Service Description

The Open Water Diver course teaches the fundamentals of recreational diving, allowing students to obtain an international certification to dive autonomously up to 18 meters (60 feet). It is designed for beginners and adapts to different learning styles. > Course Components 1. Knowledge Development (Theory): . Learn physics, physiology, equipment, safety and dive planning. . Format: In-person or online classes, digital manuals, videos and assessments. 2. Confined Water: . Practice basic skills such as equipment assembly, buoyancy control and emergency procedures. 3. Open Water (Sea Dives): . Make 4 dives in real environments, applying what you have learned. > Requirements . Minimum age: 12 years (Junior) or 15 years (Open Water). . Physical condition: Good health (medical form if necessary). . Basic Skills: Know how to swim and feel comfortable in the water. > Duration and Learning Options . The course has an estimated duration of 3-4 days, but we offer flexibility: 1. Traditional Method: . Theory: 1-2 days of in-person classes. . Confined waters: 1 day of practice. . Open waters: 2 days (4 dives). 2. Flipped Classroom Method with E-Learning: . What is it? - Students learn the theory from home with digital materials (videos, interactive manuals and online assessments). . How does it work? - Access to an e-learning platform to study at your own pace. - 2 Zoom sessions with the instructor to correct errors and resolve doubts. . Advantages: - Ideal for students abroad who want to advance before traveling to Cuba. - Time saving: Upon arrival, you only do pool and open water practices (2-3 days). - Personalized learning with the instructor. 3. Combination of Methods: . Study part of the theory online and complete the rest in person. > Certification Upon completing the course, you receive an international certification that allows you to: - Dive autonomously up to 18 meters (60 feet). - Rent diving equipment at certified centers. - Access advanced courses (Advanced Open Water, specialties, etc.). > Benefits of the Flipped Classroom Flexibility: Study from anywhere and at your own pace. Time saving: Upon arrival in Cuba, you will only focus on the practices. Personalized advice: Online sessions with the instructor to ensure your understanding.


Cancellation Policy

> Diving Course Reservation and Cancellation Policy . Open Water Diver Course Prices - Adults: 250 USD/EUR. - Children (12-18 years): 230 USD/EUR. > Annex 1: Reservation a) To guarantee your participation in the course, an initial payment of 200 USD/EUR is required. b) This payment must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the course. c) Payment methods: . Outside Cuba: PayPal or transfer within Mexico. . In Cuba: Cash. > Annex 2: No-show or late arrival a) Clients in Cuba: . No-show or late arrival will not affect the program or payment. The course will simply be rescheduled for another day. b) Semi-presential clients (outside Cuba): . If they do not show up on the first day of confined waters, it will be rescheduled for another available day. . If you are unable to complete the practical part due to a short stay in Cuba, you have two options: - Option 1: Receive a 50% refund (125 USD/EUR) and deactivate the course. The student may resume the course in another season, paying the remaining 50%. - Option 2: Do not receive a refund and plan a new practical session based on the student's availability. The course will remain active until its completion. > Annex 3: Cancellation by the Diving Center a) This policy applies exclusively to clients who travel to Cuba and opt for the blended learning modality. b) If the Diving Center cancels the practical sessions due to adverse weather conditions, logistical problems or other situations that prevent the safe completion of the course: - The client may opt for a refund of 80% of the total course fee. - Or follow the instructions in Annex 2 (rescheduling without losses). > Appendix 4: Final payment and certification a) Once the course is finished and the entire program agenda is completed, the client must pay the remaining balance: - Adults: 50 USD/EUR. - Children: 30 USD/EUR. b) This payment is necessary for the instructor to issue the digital certification of the diving license. > Appendix 5: Payments from abroad a) Payments from abroad can be made through: - Bank transfer within Mexico. - PayPal: An additional 8% commission will be applied for taxes to be declared. > Important note a) For any changes or cancellations, we recommend that you contact the Diving Instructor directly as soon as possible. This will allow us to provide you with better service and manage your reservation appropriately.
